Extrusion blow molding is most suited for making hollow plastic products such as bottles. On this page, you will learn the basic process of blow molding.
【Step1】 Resin pellets are thrown into the hopper. The resin is heated and melted in the cylinder, mixed and extruded by the screw. The molten resin called “melt” flows through the heads and is formed into tube-like shape called “parison”.
【Step2】 The extruded parisons are clamped by the mold and cut by the cutter.
【Step3】 The carriage slides the mold to right under the calibrating unit.
【Step4】 The blow pins on the calibrating unit are inserted to the parisons and compressed air is blown into the parisons to expand. The expanded parisons adhere to the interior of the mold and are cooled down by the cooling water that flows through the mold. The parisons are hardened in the shape of the mold.
【Step5】 The mold opens and releases the molded products.
